The Spirit of Salford Helpline has been set up to provide help, support and advice on a variety of issues faced by local residents. Over the Christmas period, the Spirit of Salford Helpline is open on: 24th December (8am-4.30pm), 29th, 30th & 31st December (10am-4pm). The helpline will return to normal hours on Friday 2nd January 2026. If you need emergency help for fuel, food, baby items or essential furniture you should contact Salford Assist on the freephone number 0800 694 3695. Over the Christmas period, Salford Assist will be open on 24th December (10am-1pm), 29th, 30th and 31st December (10am-2pm). The helpline will return to normal hours on Friday 2nd January 2026. The Adult Health and Social Care Contact Team will be open until Christmas Day and on 29th, 30th and 31st December and from 2nd January onwards. Its opening hours are 8.30am-4.30pm for Adult Social Care enquiries. Salford City Council has made some changes to bin collection during the Christmas period. Bins will not be collected on Thursday 25th December, Friday 26th December or Thursday 1st January 2026. Replacement collection days have been arranged for Saturday 20th December 2025, Saturday 27th December 2025 and Saturday 3rd January 2026.
