Michael Wheeler MP has announced the launch of his 2025 Summer Internship Programme – a paid, full-time, six-week opportunity designed to give one local person meaningful, hands-on experience in political work at both the constituency and national level.
The successful candidate will divide their time between Michael’s constituency office and Westminster, gaining first-hand insight into the daily responsibilities of a Member of Parliament and the wider workings of UK politics.
Throughout the internship, the participant will contribute to a range of key activities, including speechwriting, policy research, supporting local events, engaging with constituents, and helping manage social media communications.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for a person who is enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to learn,” said Michael Wheeler MP. “It’s designed for someone who is passionate about politics, cares about their community, and shares Labour values.”
The role is paid at £3,000 for the full six weeks and is open to residents of the Worsley & Eccles constituency. The internship will run full-time over summer 2025.
