Brandon contacted Michael in the lead up to his Half Marathon on 18th May 2025 and his journey to this moment has been nothing short of extraordinary.

After surviving a near-fatal fall in 2023, he was told he’d never walk again. But with the help of the Enhanced Major Trauma Rehabilitation Service at the Manchester Institute of Health and Performance, Brandon defied the odds. The service, originally created for victims of the Manchester Arena bombing, provided him with intensive, life-changing care.

Brandon completed the Great Manchester Run, crossing the finish line in 2 hours and 20 minutes (with a quick break for a media interview), Brandon described the experience as unlike anything he’s ever felt. “The support, kind messages, and donations were overwhelming,” he said. “It still gives me goosebumps.

Running to raise funds for this vital programme, Brandon was joined by his physio Jess, who he credits with keeping him going every step of the way. “I couldn’t have done it without you, mate,” he said.

Brandon’s run may be over, but his journey isn’t. He’s already planning his next challenge and is hinting at something “a bit more extreme.” Good luck Brandon!
